Operation Encompass

We are now working on this project with Sussex Police.

Our School has been given the opportunity to take part in a new project that will run jointly between the School and Sussex Police.

The project, Operation Encompass, has been designed to provide early reporting to schools of any domestic abuse incidents that occur in which a child was present, ordinarily resides at the incident location or with an involved party. We know that children can be significantly affected through witnessing or being exposed to domestic abuse. This operation will allow the School to better support our pupils and their families.

Nominated members of school staff, known as a Key Adults, will be trained to liaise with the police. At Ifield Community College our Key Adults will be Mr K Laundon and Miss R Baverstock. We will be able to use the information that has been shared with us, in confidence, to sign post to appropriate help or ensure the relevant pastoral support is available should it be required by a child and /or their family.

We are keen to offer the best support available to our students and we believe this is going to be extremely beneficial for all those involved.

If you have any concerns or questions, please contact the Key Adults as named above or your Childs Progress Leader and we will happy to discuss this further.
