Applications

Sixth Form applications should be made online. Only applications made online will be considered.

In all instances, students must meet general entry requirements (five GCSE’s Grade 4 and above) and those for chosen courses. Link - Course Content and Entry Requirements.

Following the December deadline applications are reviewed. Interviews are offered in accordance with the priority criteria set out in order below:

  1. Student previously attended Year 11 at Ifield Community College, meets general entry requirements and those for chosen courses *
  2. Looked after children, in accordance with section 22(1) of the Children Act 1989 or previously looked after children who are now subject to a residence order, special guardianship order or adoption order. General entry requirements are met and those for chosen courses *
  3. Student studied at another establishment, meets general entry requirements and those for chosen courses *
  4. Students average GCSE point score will be used to determine priority of offers until places are filled. *
  5. Student studied at another establishment, meets general entry requirements but not those for chosen courses (alternatives may be offered if places still available). *

*We reserve the right to withhold or withdraw an offer according to reference supplied by current school.

If places are filled we will hold all remaining applications in a waiting list. Please refer to the waiting list information below.

Late Applications

Online applications beyond the December deadline will be considered until all available places are filled.

If capacity is reached, a waiting list will be held. Please refer to the waiting list information below.  

Waiting List

In recent years, ICC Sixth Form has been oversubscribed. Once the Sixth Form has offered all available places, a waiting list will be held.

The waiting list for admission will be held through September for the year of entry**.

The waiting list will be held in accordance with the criteria set out in the applications section.

Applicants will only be contacted for interview if full-time places become available.

**We reserve the right to close the waiting list earlier if there is significant demand.

In Year Applications

In year applications made after September of Year 12 will only be considered if all places are not filled and the criteria below are met ***.

  1. Currently studying Level 3 / A Level courses elsewhere
  2. Chosen courses are the same subject & specification as those currently studied.
  3. GCSE average achieved is above grade 5.
  4. ICC subject entry requirements for all chosen courses are met.

***We reserve the right to withhold or withdraw an offer according to reference supplied by current place of study.

Appeals

Where an application for admission is refused, upon appeal, ICC will organise an Admissions Appeal Panel to consider the initial decision.

Applications to appeal should be made in writing to Mr Ward, Director of Sixth Form. The Panel will be convened within 30 days of the formal request. The panel’s decision is final. Applicants may only re-appeal during the current academic year if there is a significant change of circumstances.
