Entry Requirements: 

Grade 4 in GCSE English Language or English Literature and
Grade 4 in GCSE Drama  or a Level 2 pass or higher in BTEC Dance

Course Overview: 

The level 3 RSL  Diploma is for learners who are interested in learning about the performing arts sector alongside other fields of study, with a view to progressing to a wide range of higher education courses, performing arts or otherwise. Performing arts is an exciting and dynamics subject that encourages you to develop physical and technical skills whilst exploring your creativity and embedding analysis throughout. You can take the Dance or Acting Route which involves the following units.

Dance units: Applying safe practice, Leading Dance, Technique and performance, Repertoire, Choreography and the two core units Planning for a Career in the Creative and Performing Arts and performance preparation.

Acting Units: Approaches to Acting, Ancient Greek and Roman Theatre, Drama in the Community, Acting For Camera, Elizabethan or Jacobean Theatre and the two core units Planning for a Career in the Creative and Performing Arts and performance preparation.

Exam Information: 

Duration: 2 years
Exam Board:RSL                       

5 units are internally assessed and moderated by RSL  and two units are externally assessed by  RSL.

Qualification Gained: 

RSL level 3 Diploma in Creative and Performing  Arts is the equivalent to the size of 1  and half A levels. You can take either the Dance or Acting Route.
