Photography encourages the development of personal, imaginative and critical expression, enabling students to be able to communicate ideas in response to both internal and external stimuli. It offers you the opportunity to develop your skills in a wide range of photographic media, techniques and processes as well as enhance your critical thinking in relation to your own photographic work and the work of others.
Studying here at ICC you will have access to a diverse range of specialist equipment, both traditional (darkroom) and digital, and a lighting studio. You will be guided by supportive, expert Photography/art teachers.
Duration: 1 Year
Exam Board: Edexcel
Component 1. Fine Art coursework: 60% of the GCSE mark.
Component 2. Externally Set Assignment (Exam): 40% of the GCSE mark

Career Opportunities:
GCSE in Photography will support progression to higher-level courses in a number of Art and Design disciplines via progression onto a related A Level course. Studying Photography for its own sake develops transferable skills, which can take you into employment. Success at this level requires determination and dedication.
The Photography course provides opportunities for students to develop skills, knowledge and understanding relevant to creative industries such as Photography, Photojournalism, Advertising, Graphics, Fashion, Interior Design, Theatre Design and Animation.
