The achievements of the young people with a qualification pass rate of 97% mean that Ifield Community College students are off to universities and employment across the United Kingdom.  

“A Level Results Day is about securing young people’s futures,” said Rob Corbett. “I am extremely proud of all of our students and the staff who have supported them so well. We set ambitious and challenging targets for our students, work with them to develop their confidence and provide an ethos in which they can study and thrive. Whilst I am hesitant about singling out individuals, well-deserved tributes should certainly be paid to the following students.”

Maryam Pasha achieved an impressive record of A*, A*, B, C and C grades in English Literature, Law, Religious Studies, Biology and Chemistry and she will be reading English Literature at Durham University. Maryam was also the recipient of the college’s Sarah Robinson award which should help her prepare for all the book purchases she will need for her degree.

Another outstanding student is Ashley Marks who is preparing to attend Bath University to study Pharmacology. He gained A*, A, A and B grades across mathematics, sciences and music.

Several students are off to top universities including Ria Emsley (B,B,B) and Reece Fraser (A*, BB). Reece will be studying mathematics further at the University of Surrey whilst Ria is pursuing philosophy and politics at King’s College, London.

Ellen Burt is also an outstanding student with her grades leading to a place to study Sport and Exercise Psychology at Chichester University alongside her role as a member of the County Women’s Cricket team and her place in the England Academy.

Many of the students have excelled and will be taking up university offers as the first generation within their families to do so. They have chosen study in areas as diverse as song-writing, forensic psychology, physiotherapy, physics, architecture, business management, paramedic science, civil engineering, biological sciences, chemistry and music journalism.

Rob Corbett said “We wish them all great success in their futures and we now look forward with tremendous enthusiasm and excitement to welcoming the new sixth form joining us in September.”
