Entry Requirements:   

Grade 4 in GCSE English Language or GCSE English Literature and 
Grade 4 in Maths and 
Grade 4 in Design & Technology or Art based GCSE

Course Overview:

Lessons will consist of a blend of practical and theory work. Each topic will consist of practical work, so you will have lots of opportunity to be creative and experiment with a range of media. You will develop a comprehensive portfolio which will show case your work to prospective courses and employers.

You will complete a range of practical and theory based units which will develop you knowledge and practical skills.

By the end of the course you will have had experience print making, pattern design, knitting, silk screen printing, CAD/CAM modelling, heat press, general sewing skills along with ideas generation and iterative problem solving.

Exam Information: 

Duration: 2 years
Exam Board: AQA

50% NEA (Coursework) Design and Make Project

30% Exam Paper 1 at the end of year 2

20% Exam Paper 2 at the end of year 2
