Course Overview:

Mathematical Studies or Core Mathematics is a fantastic course designed by the Government for a good proportion of sixth form students who have achieved a Grade 4 or higher at GCSE and who are not studying A Level Mathematics. It is a further course option which would be taken in addition to A Levels. The qualification has been designed to prepare students for the mathematical demands of other qualifications, life and work.

It complements a range of numerate A Level courses such as, Psychology, Applied Sciences, Biology, Geography and Product Design. Core Mathematics is diverse, engaging and essential in equipping students with the right skills to reach their future destination.  This course is best suited for students who enjoy mathematics but are put off by the rigour and intensity of AS or A Level Mathematics.
