Ifield Community College will be running a summer school for the first two weeks of the school summer holidays this year for students transitioning from primary to secondary school. The summer school offering for children will be for one of the two weeks:
Week 1 - 26th – 30th July 2021
Week 2 – 2nd-6th August 2021
The day will start at 09:00 and end at 14:30, lunch will be provided each day free of charge, students are welcome to bring a packed lunch if preferred. It is expected that students will attend each day of their allocated week unless they are unwell.
Reporting an absence
If your child is unwell and is unable to attend summer school, please can we ask parents to phone 07754203012 to report their child's absence each dy.
Summer School Applications
The focus of Summer School is to support Y6 into Y7 transition and the development of problem solving, teamwork, communication, and self-confidence. There will be maths and English sessions alongside sport, forest school, street dance, team challenges and climbing, as well as many other activities. All activities will be run by qualified teachers/specialist staff.
Places are strictly limited to 50 each week, on a first come first served basis. To secure your child’s place please complete the booking form using the following link: Summer School Booking Form. Applications will close on Friday 2nd July to enable us to confirm places for successful applicants and notify anyone who may be placed on a waiting list.
Places will be confirmed week of 5th July and once all new student paperwork is completed and returned to ICC.
We will use the global permission forms completed for all new ICC students.
It will be assumed that students will make their own way home at the end of each day of Summer School.
Mixed sandwiches (cheese, ham, tuna and chicken)
Vegetable batons (carrot, cucumber, pepper and cherry tomatoes)
Selection of healthy crisps (baked and pop chips)
Fruit Platter Cookies
Crispy chicken or breaded mozzarella stick wraps served with salad, mayonnaise and sweet chilli sauce.
Fruit Platter Selection of biscuits
Cheese and tomato Pizza
Scotch pancakes golden syrup, fresh strawberries and blueberries
Bagels (Ham, Cheese, Tuna, dairy lea and egg mayonnaise with shredded lettuce, sliced cucumber and tomato)
Selection of cakes (jam tarts, cupcakes, gingerbread men, rice Krispy cake and mini rolls)
Fish finger or veggie burger sub roll Tomato, sweetcorn and cucumber salad
Squash and water will be available with every meal.
Please remember to bring a refillable water bottle each.
